Certified Licensing Professional Candidate Information
CLP Eligibility Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university
- At least 3 years of professional-level experience in the licensing field accrued within the previous 8 years
- Work in the licensing field within the previous 12 months from application submission
CLP Application
Create a login and complete the CLP certification application using the link below. Applicants may begin the application and save their progress. All application steps, including payment, must be completed before the application will be reviewed and an eligibility decision made. Applicants must attest to the CLP Code of Conduct.
Note: Please ensure the name you use to create a login for the application system matches your government-issued photo identification that you will present at the testing appointment. Inconsistencies will result in refused admission to the testing appointment.
If you have earned the CLP-Associate credential, a CLP application will be assigned to your application profile. Please use the login credentials you previously created.

CLP, Inc. Credential Registry
The CLP, Inc. Credential Registry provides a publicly available listing of active credential holders. The registry includes CLP, CLP-Associate, and CLP-Emeritus credential holders who opt to be included in the public listing. Credential holders may opt to include additional fields in their registry listing including company name, email address, and phone number. Effective December 2025, additional fields are available to provide supplemental information about professionals’ sector/setting, technology domain(s), and role function(s). These new fields are optional and include pre-populated selections to standardize the information reported. Credential holders may update and opt into/out of inclusion of the fields through the application process. CLP, Inc. defined the supplemental fields to assist professionals in completing these fields.
